CarCue is a car maintenance tracker app developed by Justin Bundrick. Your privacy matters. Here's exactly what we do and don't do with your data.
All of this data is stored locally on your device using Apple's Core Data framework. If you have iCloud enabled, your data syncs across your Apple devices via Apple's CloudKit — we never see or access your iCloud data.
When you use the AI Mechanic chat feature, your message and basic vehicle context (year, make, model, mileage, and recent service summary) are sent to our server to generate a response. This data is transmitted securely over HTTPS and is not stored on our servers — it is processed in real-time and discarded. We use third-party AI providers (Google Gemini via OpenRouter) to generate responses. No personally identifiable information (name, email, exact location) is ever sent.
CarCue requests location access only for the "Find Shops" feature, which uses Apple's MapKit to find nearby auto repair shops. Your location is processed on-device by Apple's frameworks and is never sent to our servers. Location permission can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.
CarCue requests camera access for the VIN scanner and receipt scanner features. Photo library access is used for importing service receipts and vehicle documents. These permissions are used only for the stated purposes and can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings.
CarCue Premium is available as a monthly or yearly auto-renewable subscription. Payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings at any time.
CarCue does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or personal information to use.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
